Mark Hanson, President of Air Care Alliance, FAASTeam Safety Representative and avid volunteer pilot, will review simple but significant ways that instructors, flights schools and general aviation can both benefit from and contribute to public benefit flying. Mark Hanson is a FAASTeam Safety Representative and accomplished volunteer pilot who advocates nationally for charitable aviation. Mark has flown over 500 volunteer missions for a variety of volunteer pilot organizations, carrying precious cargo including children, adults, veterans, turtles, and even bone marrow..
As president of the non-profit AirCareAlliance.org (ACA) Mark travels the USA promoting pilot safety and volunteer opportunities on behalf of over 60 volunteer pilot organizations.
IMark holds a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating including single and multi-engine land and single-engine sea privileges. He also holds a type rating on the EA50/S.
A Lifetime Member of AOPA and EAA, Mark leads the Norwood/Beford area IMC club and serves as a volunteer pilot for nearly a dozen organizations.
Aaron Dabney earned his Flight Instructor certificate in 2009 and has been an active instructor ever since. He has provided more than 5,000 hours of instruction in more than 30 models of aircraft, mentoring pilots from their first hour through becoming accomplished instructors themselves, and all points in between.
Dabney grew up in an aviation family. His maternal grandfather Joe was a World War II fighter pilot, and much of his childhood was spent in the family J-3 Cub with his grandfather or his uncle Mark. Aaron completed his first solo in that Cub in 1999 and is now its caretaker.
A 6-time NAFI Master Flight Instructor, Aaron serves as a lecturer with the Baylor University Institute for Aviation Sciences and provides independent instruction services through his own small flight school. He serves on NAFI's Board of Directors and as well as in several volunteer roles including coordinating MentorLIVE.
Aaron lives in Waco, Texas with his wife of 21 years Alisa.
