Running a flight school can be as complex as offering multiple ratings with multiple aircraft and multiple instructors or as simple as a single CFI with one airplane teaching one rating. No matter the size or ratings offered everything you do, say, and show sends a message to the student. The question is what message?
Are you sending the message of a well-organized, thoughtful, friendly, and safety program or a message of a disorganized, chaotic school that treats safety as a required compliance instead of an agreed desire?
The topics we will cover:
Ned Parks' aviation roots date back to his cousin, Oliver Parks, who started the first certified aviation school in the US in 1927. Ned flew UH-1 helicopters in the Army and has run several full service FBO's.
He holds ATP/CFII/AGI/IGI/CSIP and is rated in both fixed and rotor wing. Ned is a FAASTeam member with 4,800+ flight hours. He owns Aegis 360 Consulting, a global provider of staff development services, business consulting, and strategy.
Ron Timmermans earned his Private Pilot Certificate in 1972, and went on to add Commercial, Instrument, CFI/MEI, ATP, and Remote Pilot. Shortly after earning a CFIIA/MEI-IA, Ron became a Beechcraft Pilot Proficiency Program Ground and Flight instructor.
Ron is the 2021 FAA National Certificated Flight Instructor of the Year, and has been selected by AOPA as a professional ground instructor for the 'Rusty Pilots' program, Ron now makes presentations to reach long inactive pilots to encourage their return to flight.
Ron is a FAASTeam Lead Representative giving monthly presentations on GA safety topics, has given many Young Eagle rides, has authored training curriculum, and has developed flight instructor standardization guides, published articles, and served in leadership positions on the American Bonanza Society Board of Directors.
